We are proud to announce the first artists who will be joining this year’s festival. The iconic rock band Bob Hund will be giving their very last performance in Gothenburg! Also confirmed are Seinabo Sey, Silvana Imam, Marcus & Martinus, and Y4ska. An exciting update for this year: the festival is growing and expanding right in the heart of the city. Save the dates 28–30 August!

At Kungstorget, which remains the beating heart of the festival, a unique concert awaits: Bob Hund’s very last performance in Gothenburg – and it’s completely free!
– This will be a unique opportunity for fans to experience this cult band live. We are proud to offer such a significant concert right in the city centre, says Anna Mjörnvik, Project Manager.

On the festival’s main stage, we will also welcome:

Seinabo Sey – the soul star we can’t get enough of
Silvana Imam – one of Sweden’s most powerful hip-hop voices
Marcus & Martinus – last year’s winners of Melodifestivalen
Y4ska – this year’s Grammis winner for Best New Artist

We will also be joined by the RIX FM Festival and their artists – the full Gothenburg Culture Festival programme will be released around Midsummer.

The Festival expands in the City Centre

This year, Kulturkalaset will be bigger than ever in central Gothenburg. We are expanding the festival area to include the beautiful Kungsparken – a green oasis where you can experience circus acts and try out activities in collaboration with Göteborgs dans- och teaterfestival.
The hugely popular Street Food Festival is also growing, stretching from Kungstorget via Basargatan up to Bältespännarparken, where there will be a barbecue theme and plenty of seating. A perfect spot to take a break, enjoy great music, delicious food, and relax together.

Last year’s success, Grönsakstorget, is also back! Here, we will continue to focus on activities for a younger audience – with dance, performances, workshops, and DJ nights.
It will be easy to stroll between the different areas – our festival venues are close to each other, connected by bridges over the canal.

– It feels fantastic that the festival can grow in the city centre this year. Our central venues are hugely popular, and now even more people can experience Kulturkalaset in a wonderful way, says Anna Mjörnvik, Project Manager.

As always, Gothenburg Culture Festival will also spread across Gothenburg through collaborations with, among others, Ö-Festen at Ringön and ParaPulsfestivalen at Slottsskogsvallen.

See you in August! 🌟
