On Sunday 4 September, the showing of "Polisvakta" is included in Folknöjesdagen.
The City of Gothenburg built the police station in Slottsskogen in 1905, which was popularly called
"Polisvakta". The station was voted Sweden's most beautiful police station.
The station was in use until 1965 when the Police became a state unit and towards the end it was only an emergency room for the policemen who patrolled the Castle Forest. Shortly afterwards, it was rebuilt inside and became storage and space for Slottsskogen's park staff.
In 1983, the Municipality of Gothenburg decided that the Police Pensioners' Association would take over internal responsibility and be open for public viewing. The pensioners association has arranged a simpler museum consisting of old police items such as old police uniforms, helmets, sabers and cap badges. The museum also has a large collection of older photographs.
