This year, Gothenburg Cultural Festival collaborates with the Street Food Festival. On Basargatan and Kungstorget, there will be street and sweet food, craft beer and entertainment throughout the Cultural Festival period on 1-4 September. The final of the Swedish Championships in street food takes place on 2 September.
The focus on Basargatan is food and drink from all over the world, but also on local producers and breweries. The Swedish champion in street food will be crowned under the leadership of, among others, Gothenburg chef Gustav Trädgårdh, Louise Johansson and Sofia B Olsson.
– With this collaboration, we will be able to offer visitors exciting food and drink experiences. It will be a typical classic festival area with entertainment from the stage at Kungstorget, crowds and a pleasant atmosphere, says Anna Mjörnvik, project manager at Göteborg & Co for Gothenburg Cultural Festival.
During this year’s festival, Bältespännarparken is also back as a festival area, where it will be a sustainability theme. In addition, there will be several new festival areas such as Slottsskogen, Ringön, Slakthuset in Gamlestaden and Bergsjön.
– We want to make the festival more accessible by offering several festival areas. We also hope that our visitors will take the chance to discover new areas and parts of the city. And no matter where – expect wonderful festival experiences with a focus on culture, food and music, says Anna Mjörnvik, project manager at Göteborg & Co for Gothenburg Cultural Festival.
