The Leadership Award went to Gothenburg when the @Global Destination Sustainability Movement (GDSM) revealed the results of this year’s global ranking. Gothenburg secured the top position (94,64%) ahead of Oslo (92,46%) and Copenhagen (91,73%).
“We are incredibly proud. This is once again a fantastic and important recognition of Gothenburg’s long-term sustainability efforts, for us as a destination, and for all contributing stakeholders. The GDS- index has been a powerful lever in developing our destination, and it’s fantastic to see more destinations participating in this crucial work,” says @Peter Grönberg, CEO of Göteborg & Co.
The award was presented at the annual tourism congress, CityDNA, in Valencia on Wednesday evening. The award is given to the destination that best meets the Global Destination Sustainability Index benchmark criteria.
