What will happen at Gothenburg Culture Festival 2025?

A great atmosphere and wonderful festival experiences with a focus on culture, food, and music. This year, we’re placing extra emphasis on content for a younger audience, but as always, the festival offers something for all ages and interests.

How much does it cost?

The activities during our festival are free and open to everyone. However, you pay for food and drinks that are sold at the festival’s food vendors.

Will the festival be spread out across multiple locations around the city this year as well?

The festival takes place in several locations around Gothenburg. Just like last year, our central festival areas are Kungstorget and Grönsakstorget. BÀltesspÀnnarparken is also making a comeback, and new for this year is that Kungsparken will be one of our bigger festival sites.

Will there be activeties for children at the festival?

Absolutely! Gothenburg Culture Festival has something for everyone, not the least for the youngest.

How do I sign up for events that need to be booked in advance?

Only a few events require a reservation. Booking information can be found in the digital programme.

How do I create my own schedule?

Each program item has a heart icon. Click it to add the item to your favorites. You can find all your favorited program items on the My favorites page.

Visiting the festival

How do I get to the Culture Festival?

Walk, bike or use public transportation. On VĂ€sttrafik you can search and plan for your trip. You can also bike for free during the festival with Styr och StĂ€ll. The area around the festival can be crowded so we advise you to leave your car at home.  

I’ve lost something during my visit to the festival. What should I do?

Each participating organiser has their own staff handling lost and found items. Please speak to the staff at the location where you think you lost your belonging—they’ll be happy to help you.

Am I allowed to take photos of a concert or an activity?

For private use, you are welcome to photograph activities and concerts during Göteborgs Kulturkalas. If you share photos or videos on social media, feel free to tag us at @Goteborgskulturkalas and use the hashtags #goteborgskulturkalas, #kulturkalaset and #gbg400. If you are a professional photographer, you’ll need to apply for photo accreditation. Read more on our Press and Media page.

Security

Is there a bag ban at the festival?

We do not expect to have a bag ban in place, as the police generally no longer issue such restrictions. However, we are in close dialogue with the police and follow their recommendations. Should a bag ban be introduced, we will provide information about it here on the website.

Is it safe to visit the festival?

We work closely with the police to keep the festival safe, and follow the advice and recommendations from the authorities.

Will you offer audio or sign interpretation in your program?

Yes, parts of the program will be audio-interpreted or sign-interpreted. In our programme, you can search for activities with sign language and audio description. On the page Accessibility we’ve also gathered some of these activities.

Are there wheelchair-accessible areas?

Is there assistance available for visually impaired visitors?

With Passalen you can visit the festival with the assistance of their leaders. You can find more information on this in the programme and on the Accessibility page.

What applies if I want to report from the festival?

Unfortunately, this year’s Open Call period is now closed, and we’re unable to accept any additional applications at this time.
