Before the festival
When will Gothenburg Culture Festival be organised in 2024?
Gothenburg Culture Festival is organised the weekend of week 35, in the end of August and in the beginning of September.
What will happen at Gothenburg Culture Festival 2024?
At the moment it is difficult to say exactly what will happen, but as usual Gothenburg’s Culture Festival will be free and have something for everyone.
How much does it cost?
The activities during our festival are free and open to everyone. However, you pay for food and drinks that are sold at the festival’s food vendors.
Is it safe to visit Gothenburg Culture Festival?
We always have extensive security work around events in close cooperation with the police. This means that we act on recommendations and advice from the authorities in accordance with the current security situation. Read more on Gothenburg City website.
How many program items will it be?
The program for 2024 is yet not made but Gothenburg Culture Festival 2023 had almost 200 program items.
Is there any age limit?
Some program items have an age limit or recommended age. In that case, it appears on the respective program item.
Will Gothenburg Culture Festival be spread across the city in 2023 as well?
Gothenburg’s Kulturkalas is an ongoing project in constant development and change. Therefore, it is difficult to say exactly what the format will look like for the upcoming festival.
How do I book program items where booking is required?
Only a few program items demand booking. You can find booking information on the program item.

What do I do if I want to report from the festival?

I have lost something during my visit. What do I do now?
Each actor and festival place has its own staff who handle lost and found objects. Please contact the festival place directly.
Can children come with to the Culture Festival?
Absolutely! Gothenburg Culture Festival has something for everyone, not the least for the youngest.
How do I best transport myself to the Culture Festival?
Walk, bike or use public transportation. On Västtrafik you can search and plan for your trip.
Can I take photographs of a concert or an activity?
For private use it is okay to photograph activities or concerts that are ongoing during the Culture Festival. If yo are uploading photos or videos on social media feel free to tag us at @Goteborgskulturkalas and use the hashtags #goteborgskulturkalas, #kulturkalaset and #gb400. If you are a professional photographer, you need to apply for photo accreditation. Read more here.
Can I bring a dog to the festival?
It is allowed to bring a dog but it is nothing we recommend. During the festival there will be a lot of people moving and sound which can have a negative impact on a dog.
